A Clarification of the TradeKing Promotions
Some sites out there are claiming that you can get $250 or more when you sign up, which TradeKing never offered before. What they really mean is that you will get $150 back in transfer fees, negating the termination fee that your current stock broker might charge you if you were to move your assets over to TradeKing. If you add that reimbursement fee, plus the signup bonus of $100 TradeKing promotional bonus that is available from time to time, then you get a total of $250.
Also, you need to actually fund your account whenever there is a TradeKing signup bonus so it’s not like you can just fill in a form and get $100 for free. When there is a TradeKing promotion, only new customers who are willing to fund their account (sometimes, it’s $1,000; other times, it’s $2,500) will be eligible for the free cash. In order to get the bonus, you will need to fund the account with that amount before they will transfer that bonus to you. In addition, they may also ask that you trade a few times before you qualify. This wouldn’t be a problem if you actually plan to use their services, but keep this in mind.
